Paris Day 2

Having Sam and Nickas in Paris (Nickas in Paris…) (get it?) has been the best thing. Having them as veteran travellers to pretty much follow around onto metros and streets that look identical to the last has made the past few days SO much easier.

We split up this morning and I am now staying in the centre of Paris, right up the road from The Louvre (surreal in every form) for two weeks. My sister will arrive this week too so I'll only be a lonely tourist for a few more days.

Sam and Nickas bought us a bike tour with Fat Tire Bike Tours (highly recommend - it was a blast) and we spent our first full day in Paris on a four hour bike trip around all the big tourist loves. It was the best. We didn't expect to be hooning around on the main roads of Paris with our tour leader palming off cars and us dodging cars. We saw the best bits of Paris and the next day explored the rest.

Here's a whole bunch of pictures from the first full day.
Paris is the most beautiful place I've ever seen. I understand why the reputation of the French is the way it is… It's probably closer to a city of assholes rather than love- but they can't really take all the beauty away from little things like walking down the street and the Eiffel Tower just popping up from behind a building.

Ps the croissants are insane. I n s a n e .

  1. Literally nearly crying looking at your blog... Such a beautiful place and your street photography captures that quiet buzz I remember being everywhere. I want you to visit Musee D'Orsay so I can see the beautiful photos you take there (haha selfish much).
You probably don't need any advice on where to go but if you're missing English speakers and want a raucous night out there's an Irish pub/bar right next to the Moulin Rouge (there's also lots of good restaurants around that area). It's where the Contiki managers normally take their groups and if you get friendly quick enough with one you might even get some free shots ;) Keep blogging (until your having too much fun and forget about this haha) cause it's awesome to see your beautiful photos!
