A five story art studio with about 3 rooms on each floor and different artists in each. Every room is full of the most inspiring and beautiful range of artworks and most had the artists working or relaxing in their space. It was incredible. I met one French artist who let me take pictures of his space and he took some of me - and he drew me a picture and gave it to me to keep. He was, to put it simply, crazy. But the best sort. He was an absolute character and he made sound effects when he drew and would dance around his studio and tell me things like, "I know it's seems so arrogant, but all of my work is so imperfectly perfect. And do you know why? Because it's my own imagination. It's allowed to be perfect because it is my own!" It was kind of awesome. I'll put the pictures below but they're all from my iPhone so I apologise for the quality!
I took a walk after that up through the Louvre park and around that area. I got confronted by 3 scammers and that's probably the most annoying bit of Paris. You can't even hang out in a park without men coming and asking if you will walk with them to the Eiffel Tower or get dinner with them - but apparently they just want to distract you and steal your things. So annoying. I used only my 50mm on this day - it's challenging but awesome constraining yourself to a certain lens.
Enjoy
This is the drawing the French man drew and gave to me. He said "Where there is white, always drive a colour" |
